In fall 2015, I worked with Museum Partners Consulting, LLC to develop a variety of interdisciplinary lesson plans for the exhibition Casey Ruble: Everything That Rises, which was on view at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey during the fall 2015 season. Everything That Rises is a series of collages depicting two types of sites in New Jersey: former sites on the Underground Railroad and places where race riots took place. These downloadable lesson plans align with NJ Visual and Performing Arts Standards, Common Core ELA Standards, and NJ Social Studies Standards, are designed for grades 5 – 12, and are accompanied with full-color PDFs of the artwork and background information for educators.
